Ron Paul, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney - top votes!
Last night the Republican Party of Fresno County held their first annual Salute to Republican Leaders and Fresno’s first ever Republican Presidential Straw Poll. Over 150 attended including many Republican elected officials, Republican candidates for Fresno County Supervisor, Fresno City Mayor, Fresno City Council and Fresno Unified School Board, along with many GOP activists.
There was excitement and enthusiasm as everyone voted for their candidate, the night can be best described as a night of solidarity and unity. After the polls closed and the ballots were being counted, representatives from Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney gave a brief speech on why they believe their candidate best represents the Republican Party, all agreeing on the importance of working together to support the eventual Republican nominee.
Ron Paul wins by 2 votes!
Ron Paul – 35%
Rudy Giuliani – 33%
Mitt Romney – 17%
Fred Thompson – 7%
Mike Huckabee – 5%
Tom Tancredo – 2%
Duncan Hunter – 1%
