Judy Case was elected to the Fresno County Board of Supervisors in November 1998. She served as Chairman in the years 2000 and in 2005.
Supervisor Case is committed to working with Fresno County residents and community leaders, fellow supervisors and elected officials, and county employees, in building a better community. She believes that our agricultural heritage gives us a quality of life that is worth preserving. She is particularly interested in the issues of economic development and job creation, reasonable growth without sprawl, community safety, air quality, and improving our ability to attract visitors and tourists. She believes in regional collaboration with the cities within Fresno County and neighboring valley counties.
As part of her duties, Supervisor Case serves on numerous boards and commissions including: the Fresno County Council of Governments, the California State Association of Counties Board of Directors and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Committee Chairman, the Fresno County Transportation Authority, the Selma-Kingsburg-Fowler (SKF) Sanitation District (Chairman since 2004), the San Joaquin Valley Citizens for a Healthy Environment, the Southeast Regional Solid Waste Commission, the California County Tobacco Securitization Agency, the San Joaquin Valley Supervisors Association, and the Five Cities for Progress Joint Powers Authority.
Supervisor Case and her husband, Fred McNairy, live on a ranch in Sanger raising cattle and operating a Bed and Breakfast. The daughter of farmer/businessman Lonnie Case and Mildred Case, she is a second generation Sanger resident. She obtained a nursing degree from California State University Fresno and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston , Massachusetts . She maintains her R.N credential by working occasional weekends at a local hospital.
She has volunteered for numerous civic organizations including the American Heart Association, the Central California Blood Center , the Fresno County Master Gardeners, the National Ski Patrol, Rotary International, and many others. She is currently President-Elect for the Fig Garden Rotary Club.
Prior to Supervisor Case's election to the Board of Supervisors, she served a four year term on the Sanger City Council, which included two years as Sanger's first woman mayor.
