Clovis City Councilmember Nathan Magsig
My wife and I are the proud parents of two sons. Just as my father did, I plan to send my children to school here in Clovis, where I know they will receive a first-rate education. In fact, the Clovis school system is one of the prime reasons for purchasing a home here in Clovis. As a 1995 graduate of Clovis West High School, I know first hand the quality educational opportunities our schools offer. In addition to demanding academic programs, our school sports and extracurricular programs and activities are designed to foster the best in our children. Life is filled with situations in which we win and lose, and my experiences in Clovis schools have prepared me for dealing with both. I’ve learned about consistency and composure and how putting my best foot forward is key to success in my life. Certainly it’s the job of families to raise their children, but schools are a place where those values can be reinforced. It’s no surprise that the family atmosphere here in Clovis is important to my wife and me. People look out for one another here, and our law-enforcement officials approach their work with pride and dedication. Consequently, Clovis crime statistics are among the lowest in Fresno County. As a Council Member, I consider one of my prime responsibilities is to maintain the safe, secure, small-town atmosphere in Clovis. That’s why I go to great lengths to be available to constituents and eagerly respond to them night and day. People need to know they have access to services and to community leaders.
